A paint job is mostly what happens before the first coat hits the wall. Washing, scraping, sanding, caulking, spot priming — skip any of those steps on a Surrey exterior and the new finish will start failing inside two winters. We plan paint projects around the actual condition of the surface, not just colour selection.

Exterior painting and staining

South-facing walls in the Lower Mainland get hammered by UV; north and shaded sides hold moisture, moss and mildew. Both sides of the same house often need different prep. We pressure wash, scrape failed coatings, sand cedar back to a paintable surface, spot prime bare wood, recaulk failed joints and mask everything that should not get paint on it. Only then does the topcoat go on.

Colour and finish planning

Paint chips lie. We put sample boards up on the actual wall in morning and afternoon light before owners commit to a colour, especially on exteriors where a swatch that looked perfect indoors can read completely different against a cedar shake or under a grey BC sky. For strata projects we walk colour boards through council before anyone orders product.

Interior painting

Most interior jobs happen in occupied homes. That means floor protection, room-by-room sequencing, low-VOC products where kids or pets are around, and a clean handover at the end of every day so people can still live in their house. We do not run a whole house at once and call it efficient.

Strata and commercial painting

Townhome and condo painting is a logistics job. Consistent colour matching across multiple buildings, lift access planning, resident notices, balcony and patio item handling, and phasing that does not strand someone behind tape for a week. We coordinate with the property manager and post visible signage so residents know what is happening at their unit.

Wood staining and protective finishes

Decks, fences, cedar trim and exposed wood need a finish schedule that matches how much sun and rain they take. A semi-transparent stain on a deck that gets full afternoon sun is a one-to-two-year recoat — pretending otherwise just sets up disappointment. We will tell you what the realistic maintenance cycle looks like before you pick the product.

Connected exterior repairs

Painting over rotted fascia, soft soffits or split siding just hides the problem. Where we find substrate that should be replaced before paint goes on, our general contracting side handles the repair so the finish system actually has something solid to bond to.
